More about the artists:

Frank Dobrushken:

Frank has been interested in art from an early age. Getting support from his artist mother and many fine teachers along the way has lead him through several experimental paths from stained glass to photography. His photography is an eclectic mix of styles from different photographic realms. He is drawn to architecture, landscapes, abstracts and people.

Paula Sweet:

In all of my work I look to the natural world around us for inspiration; not only in the tactile and visual elements, such as mountains, grass, etc. but also in dreams, hopes, spirits and stories of people I meet.

Recently, I have been working on paintings and one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces.

My current body of work incorporates both disciplines of study and creativity. I have made compositions in which a piece of jewelry is a part of a painting. The jewelry is constructed in sterling silver and/or other metals with semi-precious stones and varied materials. Each piece can be removed from its painted environment, worn and returned.

The Gallery also features an array of handmade work by over 80 local artists. For information on the Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council see www.shorelinearts.net.  The Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to nurture all of the arts in the community through programs and events, arts education, advocacy, and support for artists and arts organizations.  Proceeds from the Gallery at Lake Forest Park Town Center help fund these programs and events.

Kathi Bond f feels a connection to, and passion for stone.  Her creatures emerge from the stone taking on its colors, textures, inclusions. Heather Carr's paintings are inspired by manga and street art. Her imagined subjects can be cute and playful, as well as melancholic and the macabre. She often signs her paintings in Russian, recalling the time spent in Russia during high school and college.  When she creates art, "I feel unstoppable, and can't wait to see where the journey takes me."  Find out more at www.heatherunderground.com

Jean Hughes creates quilts that seem to draw upon her travels and experiences to many parts of the world, including Africa and the West Indies. They also speak something about home, as though she has brought fabric pieces from so many different places, and found a home for them.
