Artist-in-Residence Projects
2007-8 Past Projects
The Arts Council’s Artist in Residence Program in Shoreline Schools, started in 1993, impacts thousands of students each year in grades P-12.
Exciting arts projects will take place in the Shoreline Schools in 2008-9 thanks to grants from the Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council. Pre-school through 12th grade students will work with professional artists on special projects in visual art, music, dance, and drama that enrich the regular curriculum. Through these projects students learn arts vocabulary, production skills, and art history, as well as problem solving, creative & critical thinking, teamwork, and new ways of communicating. Teachers learn new concepts and skills that they can replicate in future years. The results will be shared at each school, and then with the general community at the Shoreline Arts Festival in June.
The Arts Council’s funds for these projects came from the generous supporters at last year’s GALA.
